SKODA TRANSPORTATION is a traditional Czech company engaged in the field of transport engineering with strong position in both the domestic and world markets. The Company was founded in 1859 and than after Emil SKODA became owner in 1869, it took the name of SKODA. SKODA mainly manufactured army weapons until 1918. After this, it focused railway sector. Skoda manufactured first steam locomotive in 1919 and first electrical locomotive in 1927.
SKODA TRANSPORTATION, the parent company, and its subsidiaries are focused on the transport engineering industry.Its key products include low-floor trams, electrical locomotives, metro trains, EMU’s, trolleybuses, as well as traction motors and complete traction drives for transport systems.
